Detroit Future City (DFC) is a nonprofit organization that plays a crucial role in Detroit as an independent think tank, policy advocate and innovation engine focused on the future of the city and the implementation of strategies that advance the recommendations laid out in the DFC Strategic Framework.

Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) assists small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the ‘American dream’. The SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.

The Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB) is the only organization that promotes metro Detroit regionally, nationally, and internationally as a convention, business meeting, and tourism destination.

To achieve this goal, the DMCVB works with the Detroit and Windsor area business community, civic organizations, and local government offices in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.

The DMCVB is neither a branch of any government nor a charitable foundation. It is an independent, nonprofit, economic development organization.

The Detroit Regional Chamber is one of the oldest, largest Chambers of commerce in the country. As the voice for business in the 11-county Southeast Michigan region, the Chamber’s mission is carried out through creating a business-friendly climate and value for members, leading a robust economic development strategy.

DEC

The Detroit Economic Club (DEC) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization committed to the discussion and debate of important business, government and social issues. The DEC provides a platform for distinguished international dignitaries and business leaders, who represent the changing global environment.

MACRO

Macomb Area Communities For Regional Opportunities addresses the "unprecedented financial challenges that threaten to compromise or eliminate the delivery of public services" by fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation among municipal entities while breaking down barriers, such as municipal boundaries and territorialism, that result in inefficiencies.

The Detroit City Council is the legislative body of Detroit, Michigan, United States. The full-time council is required to meet every business day for at least 10 months of the year, with at least eight of these meetings occurring at a location besides city hall. The council may convene for special meetings at the call of the mayor or at least four members of council. MSU Government Relations works very closely and extensively with the council.
